Taxmen of Siberia and the Far East met in Irkutsk

On the 8th of October at Baikal Business Center (operating company “Grand Baikal”) there started an extended session of Russian Federal Tax Service (FTS) with FTS managements of the Far East and Siberia federal districts.

The meeting is chaired by Michael Mokretsov, the head of Russian Federal Tax Service. It was attended by Dmitry Mezentsev, the governor of Irkutsk region.

In his speech the head of Irkutsk region declared that the government of Irkutsk region made a proposal on modification of federal legislation for increase of taxes collection. “If our proposals are supported by the country parliament, the budget of Irkutsk region should increase by at least 5 billion rubles”, - underlined Dmitry Mezentsev according to the news agency “Teleinform”. Initiatives of the governor were supported by Sergey Shatalov, deputy minister of finance of the Russian Federation.

Michael Mokretsov, head of Russian FTS, declared that “profit tax should remain at where people work and where industrial enterprises are located”. In his opinion, the problem of the vertically integrated companies should be solved by legislation.

The topic mentioned by the head of tax service is acute for Irkutsk region. Enterprises and offices of many big Russian companies are conducting their activities in the Sub-Angara area, but these business structures are not registered in the region.

FTS meeting shall last for two days. Baikal Business Center acted as technical operator of the activity, it took care of the premises, conference equipment and meals for 140 guests. The meeting participants stayed in the cozy rooms of Baikal Business Center hotel.
